Britten Pears Settee Restoration

This commission was a delicate restoration of a historically significant settee belonging to Benjamin Britten, a celebrated composer. The settee, located in Peter Pear’s study at The Red House in Aldeburgh, was in need of extensive restoration. We began by re-webbing the frame to provide proper structural support. Each stitch in the re-upholstery process was meticulously done by hand, ensuring authenticity and care were taken. Finally, the piece was completed with new platform lining, bringing it back to its former glory while ensuring durability for future generations to appreciate. The settee now sits proudly in its original location, offering a glimpse into Britten's personal life.
