Trafalgar Chairs for The National Trust
The Trafalgar Chairs restoration was a prestigious project for The National Trust at Peckover House, Cambridgeshire. These chairs, a key part of the historic collection, are frequently used during public events, making them subject to wear and tear. Our role involved conservation work to preserve their heritage, including re-tightening joints, repairing the iconic saber-style front legs, and applying a custom blend of wax polish to protect the wood. Each chair was carefully assessed and treated, with particular attention paid to maintaining the historic accuracy of Lord Nelson-era designs. Ongoing maintenance plans were implemented to ensure these chairs remain functional while preserving their storied past.
